For reasons of completeness, it must be noted that certain manufacturers (e.g., Sony) have recently launched "ready-to-use" machines assembled for specific use in videoconferencing and telework. In practice, these are PCs "wearing" designer chassis' and generally incorporate high-quality components; the SONY CONTACT PCS 1600 videoconferencing system, for example, is equipped with a video camera that automatically tracks the user's movements so that he/she always appears at the center of the frame. From the technological point of view, these stations do not introduce any innovations, and their cost, invariably very high, does not seem justified.
