Observation: Care is essential above all when selecting those components which more than others will influence the course of the telework session. In particular, high quality is essential for everything concerning the audio/video interface (monitor, video adapter, sound card, video camera, and speakers and microphone or headset), in order not to jeopardize quality and continuity in audio/video data flow. Another fundamental-and perhaps the most important-concern is selection of the device used for connecting to the remote system (usually a modem). Choice in this case will be dependent on the type of connection available, and is the subject of the following chapter on "connectivity."
