PSNT (Public Switched Telephone Network)
This is a normal telephone line over which a dial-up connection is made by means of a peripheral called a modem (MOdulator DEModulator) that digitizes the audio signal transmitted over the telephone line. This type of connection, which can transfer data at a maximum speed of 56 kbps (kilobits per second) is that with the narrowest bandwidth and is the least suitable for uses that require handling high-quantity data flows.
