Cable Internet Connection

Use of cable connections is still small-scale, since the necessary condition for this type of connection is new fiber optics cabling and only a few cities in Italy have to date laid such cable (Milan, Siena, …). The advantages of this type of connection are considerable: bandwidth of over 10 Mbps, total absence of interference, the possibility of using the same cable for other services (cable television, normal voice telephone service, etc.). Besides the fiber optics cable, this type of connection requires a special adapter called a HUG.
